I will be getting a tattoo of Revelations 21:4 on the left side of my upper chest.
Does anyone know any good places? I’m on a tight budget.
The New Testament knows nothing of churchless... →
cierabgardner:
It’s sexy among young people — my generation — to talk about ditching institutional religion and starting a revolution of real Christ-followers living in real community without the confines of church. Besides being unbiblical, such notions of churchless Christianity are unrealistic. It’s immaturity actually, like the newly engaged couple who think romance preserves the marriage,...

This generation has to escape this emotional epistemology. It’s tearing you apart and you don’t even realize it.
So true. Our emotions should NOT be in charge when it comes to what we regard as true. Our feelings are subject to change and can deceive us. Truth is that which corresponds to reality and propositions need to be logically coherent(what you believe has to...
An Open Letter to Praise Bands
1. If we, the congregation, can’t hear ourselves, it’s not worship. Christian worship is not a concert. In a concert (a particular “form of performance”), we often expect to be overwhelmed by sound, particularly in certain styles of music. In a concert, we come to expect that weird sort of sensory deprivation that happens from sensory overload, when the pounding of the...
Depressing
Have you ever like… been able to describe a certain taste as depressing?
I was sitting at the student center today and I didn’t have much time to order food so I bought a chicken salad sandwich from the convenient store. I sat down and started eating it, and the only way I could describe the flavor was… depressing.
It was a pretty bad sandwich, and I don’t know how but I...
Mortification
5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Was amazing.
Also getting to hang out with all these different fellowships in one place was amazing.
Getting to eat in a diner jam packed with people from KCF, KCCC, CCF, and IV was also amazing.
Hanging out with KCCC until four in the morning was also amazing.
I would say the body of Christ is pretty… well, amazing.ugh
Faith vs Works
True faith is a faith that works. There we go.
I don’t understand why we ever need to talk about this again.
Goodbye "purity", and good riddance.

Anonymous asked: A little over a year ago, I was raped by a good friend who I thought was a Godly man. Now I’m not sure how to tell a future boyfriend about the loss of my purity, or how it will affect our relationship. How would I go about talking to him? Sexual purity has always been a big deal to me, and I don’t want to disappoint my future husband.

Tumblr Etiquette for Christians
I’m all for blogging about your emotions. Heck, that’s what 80% of Christian Tumblrs do, they blog about their passion and their love for God. But when it comes to emotions like frustration and anger, Christians, lets have the self-control to keep our language glorifying, even in the most irritating circumstances.
The content of what we blog should be edifying. That means, guys, come...
Trinitarian Universalism
jonathonwebb:
While I haven’t posted much recently, I have been reading everything in my stream, and there’s one thing that has caught my attention: the amount of universalism I am seeing. I am going to summarize Christian Universalism, then at the end I will give my opinion. Remember, it’s just that, an opinion. I’m not trying to judge anyone or make anyone feel guilty.
Universalism began to...

life
Life is absolutely terrible. Never have I experienced a semester with more pain, suffering, and tears.
This is not a post to say I’m still happy because God is around. No, Christians are allowed to be under stress, Christians are allowed to cry. Jesus was a man of sorrows. Ecclesiastes specifically says there is a time for weeping.
Life is so hard right now. I’ve lost so many things...

Dancing as Worship
And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
Exodus 15:20
And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
2 Samuel 6:14
Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

Where a Man Belongs
whiteflagxp:
From Desiring God by John Piper:
I address the men directly for a moment:
Do not let the rhetoric of unbiblical feminism cow you into thinking that Christlike leadership from husbands is bad. It is what our homes need more than anything. For all your meekness and all your servanthood and all your submission to your wife’s deep desires and needs, you are still the head, the...

Taking a break from all the books I have lined up to read.
Going straight up Bible for a while.
Relationships
I think it’s a hot tumblr topic. I see many brothers and sisters doing their 365 Day challenge, writing about what they want in their significant other, and what they want out of a relationship. So here’s my two cents on a lot of stuff I guess.
Despite my usual cynicism on relationships, I’m not here to bash that kind of mindset. “It’s not good to be alone!”...
home.
Earth is like a motel. It’s okay.. we have tv’s and big beds to share and it’s fun, but it kinda smells weird and we don’t stay here thinking that it’s home because heaven is home and heaven is a castle and Jesus wants to bring us to his castle.
